What is BOTOX?

BOTOX® is used cosmetically to treat dynamic wrinkles of the face. These are lines that occur as the face moves. Botox acts to decrease the movement of muscles and thus reduce wrinkle formation.

Common Cosmetic Treatment Areas:

  • Above & between the brows
  • "Crows feet" on the outer corner of the eyes

BOTOX for Medical Purposes

BOTOX is also used for medical purposes. Dr. Marshak has extensive experience in using it to treat blepharospasm, where the eyes blink or spasm uncontrollably, and hemifacial spasm, where one side of the face twitches or spasms uncontrollably. Dr. Marshak also has extensive experience in using facial fillers to treat migraine headaches. Dr. Marshak also uses it to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the armpits, hands and feet.
